Pool Coping

One of the key advantages of pool coping is its ability to keep unwanted debris out of your pool. By acting as a barrier, it prevents dirt, leaves, grass, and other particles from entering the water. Additionally, it acts as a shield, preventing water from seeping into the area behind the pool's structure.

Moreover, pool coping provides a convenient space for various mechanical components, including an automatic pool cover. This not only adds convenience but also ensures safety. With smooth and rounded coping, swimmers can easily enter and exit the pool without any risks.

When it comes to choosing the right material for pool coping, natural stone options like limestone, sandstone, and granite have gained immense popularity. These materials are not only durable but also offer excellent anti-slip properties, making them a preferred choice for many pool owners.

So, when designing your pool deck, remember that pool coping is an essential consideration that goes beyond aesthetics, providing practical benefits and ensuring a safe and enjoyable swimming experience.

When discussing pavers or other types of hardscapes

Choosing Safe Pool Coping

Choosing the right coping material for your pool is crucial when it comes to ensuring safety. One of the key features of Unilock coping is its non-slip surface, providing a textured and skid-resistant area around the pool. This extra measure of safety is essential for a worry-free pool experience.

Non-slip Surfaces

It's important to select materials that are suitable for coping. Avoid stones that are prone to chipping or cracking, as they can compromise both aesthetics and safety. Additionally, rough textures may be uncomfortable on bare skin, so it's best to opt for a coping material like Unilock Ledgestone, which offers a natural and highly durable surface.

Choosing the Right Materials

When it comes to the edges of the coping, many homeowners prefer rounded edges for a softer appearance that won't snag on swimsuits or skin. Fullnose coping is a popular choice for pools and hot tubs due to its aesthetic appeal and safety benefits.

Coping and Aesthetics

While safety is the top priority, it's also possible to create a visually stunning poolscape that matches your personal style. Coping pavers are available in various designs and can complement any aesthetic, whether it's rustic, old world, or traditional. With the right choice of coping, you can achieve both beauty and safety for your pool area.

When discussing traditional brushed, hand paved, or stamped concrete
The BULLNOSE TRADITIONAL ALUMINUM COPING & LINER TRACK is one of the best options

Our manufacture uses only the finest quality materials for all its materials, and coping is no exception. Our aluminum coping starts with a 6063 alloy aluminum, which is extruded, then electrostatically-coated with a paint finish that is baked on. Our white, gray, and tan painted aluminum finish is:

  • Pretreated with a non-chrome zinc base

  • Electrostatic-applied wet polyester paint

  • Cured at 350 degrees in aging oven

Pool surround decking not only serves as a frame and walkway around the pool, but it also serves as a piece of architectural beauty, providing the ideal background for your next cookout, barbecue, or dinner party. We will suggest a minimum decking width of four feet. The decking would be composed of slip-resistant materials and angled slightly to aid in water drainage away from the swimming pool.
